Barbershop & Hair Salon Blood Pressure and Heart Rhythm Screening
Barber Shops and Hair Salons have been proven in medical studies to be excellent locations for people to have their blood pressure and heart rhythm checked. The customers are sitting, relaxed and return for regular visits.
High blood pressure and the irregular heart rhythm Atrial Fibrillation (shared by KareemAbdul Jabbar in recent TV commercials), increase the incidence of a stroke or heart attack by 5 times. Also, people with high blood pressure or atrial fibrillation often have no symptoms, and are not aware of these problems until they have the stroke, heart attack or die.

A single barber or hair stylist may see around 400 people in a two month period. Talk with them about us and send us their name and contact information so we can provide them with a free Blood Pressure monitor to screen their customers for high blood pressure and Atrial Fibrillation. Your actions can have life changing effects upon a whole community of people.

The Strong Heart Foundation was created by a nurse, Steve Miller, along with the employees of EPreward and Medical Materials, companies that acquire used and expired medical devices to have them repurposed, rather than being thrown out in the trash. Their goal is to improve healthcare and life for everyone. We invite you to join our cause or help support the Strong Heart Foundation.
No executive or supervisor of Strong Heart receives any financial compensation. All donations are used for the Strong Heart Foundation’s programs and for Strong Heart’s employees that assist our programs and help them grow. Thank you.
The total cost for each blood pressure/heart rhythm monitor, batteries, battery charger, posters, written information, shipping, etc. is about $100 ea.
That $100 investment will provide regular screening for about 400 people or 25¢ per person. Your donation will be greatly appreciated by the people that you help and you can feel pride in the lives you have positively effected.
